Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium),
100% essential oil
Production: steam distillation of the herb
Ingredients: phellandrene, azulene, cineol, absinthol, thujol, pinene, salicylic acid, cadines
At the end of the 19th century, wormwood was known to many people because it was the basis of the then popular Absynth schnapps. However, since very negative effects, such as nerve disorders, occurred when the drink was consumed excessively, the Absynth was withdrawn from circulation. However, the scientists now assume that most of the problems did not come from wormwood, but from poorly baked Absynth and, above all, from alcoholism.
