Lemon Verbena (Aloysia citrodora)

The lemon shrub (Aloysia citrodora), also called lemon scent, lemon verbena or scented verbena - French verveine odorante - is a species of the verbena family (Verbenaceae).

Lemon verbena contain various essential oils in all parts of the plant, whose fine, fresh fragrance is also reminiscent of lemon.

The fragrance intensity of leaves is considerably stronger than that of most other similar-smelling plants. Even rubbing the leaves slightly creates a strong smell, supported by citrus aromas.
